The setup wizard
The first time you sign in to the dashboard, AutoMauve opens the setup wizard. You stay in the wizard until your company has at least one site, because vehicles, drivers and checks all hang off a site.
The wizard has eight steps: Welcome, Add Sites, Add Vehicles, Add Trailers, Invite Team, Default Checks, Mobile App and Summary. Only the site step is required. You can skip the others and come back to them from the dashboard.
Work through the steps
Sites, vehicles, trailers and invites are saved as soon as you add them.
- 1Add Your First Site: enter a site code, site name and address, then select Create Site & Continue. Add more sites now or later.
- 2Add Vehicles: enter the registration, make, model and colour, or use the import button to upload a spreadsheet. Vehicles added here are Active and assigned to every site you created.
- 3Add Trailers: enter the registration and trailer type. Skip this if you don’t run trailers.
- 4Invite Team Members: enter each person’s name, email address and role. They get an email to create their account.
- 5Review Default Checks: look over the included daily walkaround check, incident report and tail lift pre-use check, then select Publish Default Checks & Continue so drivers can use them.
- 6Mobile App: get the App Store and Google Play links, or a QR code to scan from your desktop, to share with drivers.
- 7Summary: check what you’ve set up, then go to your dashboard.
Finish with the dashboard checklist
Once the wizard is done, the dashboard shows a short checklist until everything is in place: Add a site, Add a vehicle, Invite a team member, Activate a question set and Complete a check.
The last item is the real test. Ask one driver to sign in to the app and complete a check, then open Reports in the dashboard and make sure it arrived with the right vehicle, site and answers.
A sensible rollout order
Start small. Set up one site properly, get a few drivers doing checks, and fix anything that confuses them before adding the rest of the fleet.
- 1Set up one site with its active vehicles and trailers.
- 2Invite the drivers and a manager for that site.
- 3Publish the question set drivers will use at that site.
- 4Have a driver complete a check in the app and review it in Reports.
- 5Add alerts so the right manager hears about defects.
- 6Roll out to your other sites.
