  • What Minor, Major and Dangerous mean
  • What to write and photograph

Record the defect

When your answer is a defect, a red panel appears on the same question. Fill it in before you tap Continue.

  1. 1Defect Severity: choose Minor, Major or Dangerous.
  2. 2What is wrong?: describe what you found and where it is on the vehicle.
  3. 3Photo evidence: tap Take photo, or Choose from library.
  4. 4Tap Continue.

Choosing the severity

Minor: doesn’t affect vehicle safety. The vehicle can keep operating.

Major: may affect safety or compliance. It should be repaired soon.

Dangerous: an immediate safety risk. The vehicle should not be operated.

Some questions are set up so you can’t choose a lower severity than your company expects. In that case the lower options are hidden.

Good notes and photos

Write enough for someone who isn’t there to understand it: which part, which side, what’s wrong. For example, “Nearside front tyre, bulge on sidewall”.

Take a clear photo of the affected area from a safe position, plus a wider one if it helps show where it is. The screen shows how many photos you can add.

Changed your mind?

Tap Edit answer at the bottom of the question to change your answer.

Still stuck?

Drivers: ask your fleet manager first, they can fix most access problems. Managers: sign in and open a ticket, or use the contact form if you can’t sign in.
