What sites are for

Sites are your depots and operating centres. They connect assets, people, question sets and alerts, and let you filter records by location.

What a site controls

A site is an operating location, such as a depot, operating centre, yard, workshop or region. Vehicles, trailers, drivers, question sets and alerts are all linked to sites.

Every check report records the site it was done at, so managers can filter reports and defects by location.

If different people manage the work, different vehicles are based there, or drivers need different checks, it should probably be its own site.

Choose useful boundaries

Use names your team already recognises. Each site also has a short code of up to four characters, such as MCR, BHX or LDS, that appears in lists and filters.

Avoid creating a site for every short-term job. Too many sites make reports harder to read.

  1. 1Create one site for each depot, operating centre, workshop or region that is managed separately.
  2. 2Use a consistent code pattern, such as three letters from the town name.
  3. 3Assign vehicles and trailers to the site where they are normally based.
  4. 4Assign drivers and managers to the sites they work from.
  5. 5Attach the right question sets and alerts to each site.

The site details page

Open a site from the Sites list to see its details. The summary tiles show vehicles in service, vehicle documents, drivers, trailers in use and published question sets.

Tabs list the site’s Vehicles, Drivers, Trailers, Question sets and Alerts. Each tab has a shortcut button, such as Add vehicle or Configure alerts, so you can fill gaps without leaving the page.

Deleting a site

You need the right permission to delete a site, and you can’t delete your last one.

Before deleting, AutoMauve shows what will be affected. Past check reports keep the site name and code they were recorded with. Vehicles, drivers, trailers and question sets are kept but unassigned from the site. Alerts set up for that site are deleted.

Still stuck?

Drivers: ask your fleet manager first, they can fix most access problems. Managers: sign in and open a ticket, or use the contact form if you can’t sign in.
